So I decided to reread The Mystery Method since it’s been years since I last touched it. And if I remember correctly, it was just too much to absorb all at once. Ever since, my view of TMM has been based on the guys I see from the indirect game community, and the indirect game posts that I see on forums.
Based on those, one would be led to believe that TMM is all about pre-scripted fake routines and stories, since the guys using indirect game are very robotic and base most of their game around being fake, when in reality, that was never TMM’s intention. Let’s go over a few quotes from the book along with my comments:
“From there, using a finely calibrated ability to influence (not manipulate; there's a huge difference), which this book will help you develop,you build attraction with her.”
Contrary to what most would be led to believe, TMM is NOT about manipulating women, and if you read the book in its entirety, nowhere in it does Mystery state or imply manipulation. TMM simply shows you how to put your best self forward, be genuine, and contrary to belief, TMM does not tell you to put women on pedestals.
In fact, much of TMM is based around knocking women off of the pedestal via DHV’s, compliance tests, and disqualifying women with big egos. Read the book thoroughly, and you will see that he is actually against letting women manipulate you. He says that it is much easier to just go after a new girl than it is to try and woo a difficult woman. In other words, once a woman gets manipulative or difficult, he moves on to the next girl.
“The last thing I want to do is turn you into a generic cookie-cutter pickup artist.”
99% of the guys in the indirect community missed this memo. Over and over again, he states that you need to be social, and use who you actually are to pick-up women. The cookie cutter routines were only meant as training wheels, but most indirect game guys seemed to never have removed them and continue to use the cookie cutter material, thus coming off as fake and horrible actors.
“If you "peacock," girls will look at you more often, while lower value guys will make sniggering comments.”
And
“A man with a top hat and a feather boa, a woman on each arm, surrounded by laughing friends, looks like the man. Everyone in the room will notice him, and women will whisper to one another and want to be introduced to him. But the same man in those same clothes sitting alone in the corner will look like a social reject.”
I could not agree more. I have to say that AT LEAST 2-3 times a night, a girl makes a comment about my labret piercing. The reason why peacocking doesn’t work in the favor of most indirect game guys? They
